Wood Dog Crates - A Quick Look

Wood dog crates offer a beautiful alternative to some of the duller plastic and wire dog crates.  They  come in a variety of sizes shapes, colors, and styles.  One of the best options for a wood dog crate is shown above.  This is a crate enclosure by Midwest Pet Products (Heritage Series).  It is actually a wood cover that goes over you already existing wire crate.  It is a nice option for people who already have a dog crate .  It comes in a nice cherry wood finish and can be used as an end table or other piece of furniture.  For those who do not have a dog crate, there are many other options as well.  There are some very nice wood dog crates available on the market to purchase.  Some have wire in the middle for your dog's protection and ventilation, and there are others that are made from solid wood.  They also include plenty of ventilation for your dog.  Wood dog crates are very finely constructed and do cost more than traditional dog crates but for those who are willing to spend the extra money, they really make a nice piece of furniture and also serve a useful purpose for your pet too.

  1. The dog has now learned that ignoring the owner is infinitely more rewarding than obeying the owner. This is definitely a lose-lose situation. If the dog comes, he is punished for coming because his off leash fun is curtailed.

  2. I love the idea of a crate made up of a wood. I think it has some advantages like it could blend right in with your other furniture. And it will generally be longer lasting than plastic or wire crates and you may have the option of putting them indoors or outdoors without getting damaged. But the problem is, my dog loves to bite on things. I just hope it won't destroy it if I'll buy :)

  4. First, you must understand what the crate represents to the dog. Dogs are by nature den creatures -- and the crate, properly introduced, is its den. It is a safe haven where it does not need to worry about defending territory. It is its own private bedroom which it absolutely will not soil if it can help it. Judicious use of the crate can alleviate a number of problems, stop others from ever developing, and aid substantially in housetraining.
